Five to follow on Saturday

CALIFET EN VOL (3.18) is tipped to conclude a successful week for the Nicky Henderson stable by winning the 2m 4f Virgin Bet Supports Safe Gambling Handicap Chase at Kempton. The seven-year-old, who recently secured a comfortable victory over the same course and distance, had previously shown good form at Cheltenham. Teddy Blue is considered a potential threat based on a strong third-place finish in a recent Newbury handicap. Henderson's other contender, LA PINSONNERE (2.40), is recommended for an each-way bet in the 2m 5f Virgin Bet Handicap Hurdle. The mare's recent third at Warwick on testing ground is forgiven, with her runner-up performance at Cheltenham last April being a better indicator of her ability. Royal Infantry from the Skelton yard is another notable contender.

In the JenningsBet Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter, ALCEDO (3.00) is a promising prospect in the 4m 2f chase, given his relative inexperience in long-distance races. The eight-year-old has shown strong finishing ability, winning over 2m 4f at Newcastle and performing well over three miles at Doncaster. Venetia Williams, a trainer with recent success, also has runners in the race. Dan Skelton's Deafening Silence and Rock My Way are among the other contenders, as is J’Arrive De L’Est from the Emmett Mullins yard, known for its success in Cross Country races.

WELLINGTON ARCH (1.50) is favored to carry the top weight of 12st 2lb to victory in the JenningsBet 200 Shops Nationwide Handicap Hurdle. Despite the challenge, Jonjo O’Neill's gelding drops in class after a solid effort behind an easy winner at Newbury. His best form was showcased around this time last year with a win in a large handicap at Aintree on a firmer surface. Warriors Destiny from Fergal O’Brien's stable, who has won over the course and distance, is also considered a strong competitor.

From the O'Brien team, John Barbour is a fancied runner in the 2m 7f handicap hurdle, but the selection goes to A PAI DE NOM (2.25). Harry Skelton rode a convincing race on the well-backed A Pai De Nom, securing a comfortable five-length victory over three miles at Newbury last month. A 5lb rise in the weights is not expected to hinder his chances of repeating that success.
